quality controlThe Company was founded in New Zealand in 1985 by President, Bill Lyons and the company produced the first super premium pint ice cream in New Zealand and Australia. New Zealand Delight was voted the best food product in New Zealand by "Supermarketing Magazine" and special honours were bestowed by the country’s Prime Minister, Michael Moore. In 1986 New Zealand Delight became the first imported ice cream available to Americans.

The company began exporting special super premium ice cream in shipments from New Zealand to the United States and the Americans took a great liking to the exotic flavours with the brand receiving the Award of Excellence in 1986 at the National Ice Cream Retailers Association Convention in St.Louis.

quality controlThe creaminess and natural ingredients appeals to the Americans and by 1987 the brand had already taken the No. 2 spot behind Haagan Dazs in the Super Premium Category throughout Hawaii Supermarkets and went on to beat out sales of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream for four years.

In 1988, the Company expanded its operations by supplying a group of 2000 Japanese supermarkets, and the brand received a great amount of television and national publicity where it continues to sell well among the best quality premium brands in Japan.

quality controlExpansion led the Company to Europe and Paris, France where a panel of worldwide food magazine editors from 16 countries voted New Zealand Delight, the Golden Oscar World Premier Trophy and voted it as the Worlds Best Ice Cream.

In the 1990′s expansion took the brand throughout California in the Seven Eleven stores with a distribution agreement with one of the largest dairy companies in Canada,followed by expansion throughout Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

The Company remains a leader in innovation and technical research and its product range includes a complete dessert menu, frozen yoghurt, confectionery, frozen novelties,tropical beverages, sorbets,and most are available with new sugar free recipes.
